Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes what personal information Interplate, LLC collects when you use interplate.app and what we do with it.
Information you give us
- Account: email address, password (stored hashed), nickname, and optional profile picture.
- Plates: the plate characters, state, description, and any verification photo you upload.
- Comments & votes: the text of your comments and the plates/comments you like or dislike.
- Reports: the reason text you submit when reporting content.
- Payments: if you buy Interplater Pro or donate, PayPal handles the transaction. We only receive a confirmation — we never see your card details.
Information collected automatically
- Basic request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention.
- Session cookies needed to keep you signed in.
How we use it
- To run the site: show your posts, run search, apply verification, and moderate content.
- To secure the site: detect abuse, enforce bans, respond to reports.
- To contact you about your account: verification codes, security notices, and important service updates.
Who sees what
- Your nickname, avatar, plates, comments, and votes are public.
- Your email address is private and never shown to other users.
- Reports are visible only to Admins and Owners.
Sharing
We don't sell your personal information. We share limited data with the service providers we use to run the site: our hosting/database provider, our AI provider (used to verify plate photos and generate cartoon plate art), PayPal (payments), and our email provider. Each acts only on our instructions.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account exists. If you delete your account, your email and profile are removed; content you posted (plates and comments) may remain visible but is no longer linked to you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain uses. Email privacy@interplate.app and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
Interplate isn't intended for children under 13. If we learn we've collected data from a child under 13, we'll delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level security in the database) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure.
Changes
We'll post any updates here and, for material changes, notify you by email or an on-site notice.
