Site Guidelines

Last updated: July 11, 2026

Interplate is a community for talking about license plates. These guidelines apply to every plate you add, every description you write, every comment you post, and every profile you create. Break them and your content can be removed and your account can be banned.

1. Be about plates

Keep descriptions and comments on-topic: the plate, its meaning, or the vehicle it's on. Off-topic posts may be removed.

2. Don't post personal information

  • Don't post the plate owner's full name, home address, phone number, workplace, or any government ID.
  • Don't post photos that show the driver or passengers in a way that identifies them.
  • A license plate on its own is fine — it's visible in public.

3. No harassment

No slurs, threats, targeted insults, sexual content directed at individuals, or coordinated pile-ons. Disagreement is fine; cruelty is not.

4. No illegal content

No sexual content involving minors, no threats of violence, no promotion of self-harm, no doxxing, no content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.

5. Photo verification honesty

Only upload verification photos of a plate that is actually yours or that you have permission to photograph. Faking verification is a bannable offense.

6. One account per person

Don't use multiple accounts to evade bans, stack votes, or impersonate others. Nicknames that impersonate a specific person or brand may be reset.

7. Spam and self-promotion

No repetitive posting, no scam links, no bulk advertising. Occasional mentions of your own site or project are fine if they're actually relevant to the plate.

8. Report, don't retaliate

If you see content that breaks these guidelines, use the Report button. Admins and Owners review reports and take action.

Enforcement

Admins and Owners can remove content and issue timed or permanent bans. Serious or repeat violations skip warnings. Ban decisions are final at Interplate's discretion.
